Two people were shot, one seriously injured, after an altercation erupted into gunfire late Friday night, according to Vacaville police.At around 11:50 p.m., two women and two men heading to a birthday party stopped at a liquor store in the Markham Heights area and then drove up to two pedestrians walking on Markham Avenue near Rocky Hill Road.The group in the car and the two pedestrians began arguing, and then one of the pedestrians fired a gun, described by police as a semi-automatic handgun, into the car.When police responded to reports of shots fired in the area, they found a woman with minor injuries and man with serious injuries. The man was airlifted to a nearby hospital, and his condition was last reported as serious but stable. The woman was treated for a minor injury on her leg at a local hospital and later released.Police are asking for anyone who has information about the incident to call (707) 449-5269.
