The Sonoma County coroner’s office has identified a man found dead in a burned vehicle west of Healdsburg Wednesday as 64-year-old Albert Slendebroek of Healdsburg, the sheriff’s office said today. Slendebroek was last seen leaving John & Zeke’s Bar and Grill in Healdsburg between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, sheriff’s Sgt. Tim Duke said. He was driving a light gray 2009 Ford F-150 truck with a black lumber rack, Duke said. The Healdsburg Fire Department found the truck on fire at about
4:15 a.m. in a private driveway in the 8700 block of Mill Creek Road west of Healdsburg. Firefighters contacted the California Highway Patrol because they believed the truck was involved in an accident. A CHP officer noticed a body in the vehicle and called the sheriff’s office. The circumstances of Slendebroek’s death are still under investigation, and anyone with information about him or his vehicle is asked to call detective Jim Naugle at (707) 565-2185.
