A man in his early 20s was shot in front of an apartment complex in San Rafael’s Canal neighborhood Wednesday afternoon, San Rafael police said.The victim was in stable condition at Marin General Hospital after the shooting and his wound is not life-threatening, police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said.Police received reports of gunshots on Kerner Boulevard near Bahia Way at 5:20 p.m. and found the victim in front of an apartment complex in the 3500 block of Kerner Boulevard, Rohrbacher said. Witnesses saw three light-skinned Hispanic males wearing white T-shirts running from the scene toward Canal Street, Rohrbacher said. Two of the men had handguns, police said.No motive has been determined for the shooting and the investigation is continuing, Rohrbacher said.The shooting happened near the site of hte April 28 fatal shooting of Helvin Geovany Perez-Vicente, 18, of San Rafael. No arrests have been made in that case.
