A Fresno man was arrested at a marijuana-growing operation near Lake Berryessa where narcotics agents fatally shot an armed man Wednesday afternoon, A Napa County sheriff’s captain said today.Oswaldo Rivera, 21, was arrested on suspicion of cultivating marijuana, sheriff’s Capt. Tracey Stuart said. He is being held in Napa County jail.The identity of the man killed has not yet been released. He was shot by at least one member of the Napa Special Investigations Bureau, Stuart said. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.Eight members of the investigations bureau took a boat up Pope Creek then hiked about an hour through steep terrain to get to two marijuana-growing sites that were spotted by aircraft in the northwest area of Lake Berryessa, Stuart said.Four were present when the man was shot at about 12:50 p.m., Stuart said. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a California Highway Patrol medic, Stuart said. The name or names of the officers who fired the shots and that of the shooting victim might be released late this afternoon, Stuart said. Investigators are at the scene this morning collecting evidence related to both the shooting and the marijuana grow, Stuart said.
