The death of a truck driver who was found unconscious at the Port of Oakland last week is being treated as a homicide, Oakland police spokeswoman Holly Joshi said today. Joshi said 58-year-old Jie Tao Liu of San Jose was found in the 1700 block of Middle Harbor Road at about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday and was pronounced dead at Highland Hospital in Oakland at 9:19 a.m. Friday. Liu appears to have died of blunt force trauma to his head, Joshi said. She said police believe Liu was killed as a result of an argument with another truck driver over a traffic incident, but police are still looking for suspects in the case.
