The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office has identified a man whose body was found in a San Jose creek this week as 33-year-old Todd Rusten. Rusten, who suffered from Asberger’s syndrome, had been reported missing by his mother two days after he was last seen at his home in the Heaven’s Gate sober living environment on June 9. Rusten was known to ride his bike around creek areas in downtown San Jose. At about 2:15 p.m. on Monday, firefighters and police responded to a call about a body in the Los Gatos Creek at Auzerais Avenue and Hannah Street in central San Jose. Foul play is not suspected in Rusten’s death, Officer Jose Garcia said. The medical examiner’s office is still investigating the exact cause of Rusten’s death.
