On Monday, June 21, at 7 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies were flagged down by a female, later identified as the victim’s grandmother, who frantically stated that her 17-day old granddaughter was not breathing.
Deputy Chaeff, who is also a licensed chiropractor, assessed the infant and, upon confirming that she was not breathing and had no pulse, he immediately began CPR. The infant was soon resuscitated and was transported to Valley Medical Center by AMR where she is currently in stable condition, according to the grandmother.
