* Victim Beaten Left in Critical Condition in San Francisco’s Lower Haight District

Violence in San Francisco’s Lower Haight neighborhood early this morning left a victim in critical condition and police searching for a suspect. Police said the suspect attempted to run over the victim while driving a vehicle in the area of Webster and Waller streets shortly before 2:30 a.m. The suspect crashed into a pole, exited the vehicle with a bat in hand and beat the victim on the head and body, according to police. The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital in critical condition, police said. No one has been arrested.
