* Tawni Johnson Arrested in Santa Cruz for Alleged Possession of Drugs and Fireworks

A 49-year-old woman was arrested in unincorporated Santa Cruz Thursday after investigators found thousands of dollars worth of drugs in a house, as well as a handgun and illegal fireworks, police said. Tawni Johnson was arrested after a search warrant was served at a home in the 1600 block of Thompson Avenue as part of a narcotics investigation in downtown Santa Cruz, according to police. After entering the home, officers found about $2,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine and nearly $1,000 worth of marijuana, methadone, Vicodin and oxycodone. Officers also found a handgun, more than 2,000 illegal fireworks, and nearly $2,000 in cash. Johnson was arrested at the home and booked into Santa Cruz County jail, police said.
