Redwood High School was closed down for about an hour this morning after a summer school student reported seeing a woman with a gun.Police were called to the campus, located at 395 Doherty Drive, at 9:15 a.m.A witness reported that an unidentified Hispanic female with “scrunched hair” had placed a handgun into the waistband of her jean shorts and possibly entered the school, Officer David Woo said in a news release. Summer school principal Cory DeMars said a student reported seeing a woman with a gun dropping off another student in the parking lot, but according to that account the woman did not get out of the car.Neither the woman nor the student she might have been dropping off has been located, DeMars said.The school was shut down at 10:20 a.m. and reopened at 11:15 a.m., DeMars said.The student who reported seeing the gun was not able to pick out the person who was dropped off among the students on campus, DeMars said. There are 840 students from the Tamalpais Union High School District attending Redwood High School, the only campus in the county open for summer school, which ends July 16, DeMars said.The school was placed on lockdown and police searched for the woman. Neither she nor a gun was found, Woo said.
