Police are investigating whether a man who led officers on a pursuit in a stolen Volkswagen was involved in an armed robbery at a San Jose business this morning, Officer Jose Garcia said.At about 9:55 a.m., officers received a report of an armed robbery at a retail business in the 3000 block of Sierra Road, Garcia said. An officer who responded to the robbery spotted a Volkswagen Beetle that he recognized as having been stolen from the nearby 3000 block of Rockport Avenue and attempted to stop the driver. The man led the officer on a chase for the next 10 minutes that ended at about 10:40 a.m. in a cul-de-sac in the 300 block of Railroad Court in Milpitas.Officers used a Taser stun gun to arrest the man because he was being uncooperative, Garcia said.Police have determined the man was a parolee-at-large and are investigating whether he was involved in the robbery, Garcia said. He was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure. Once he is released from the hospital, he will be booked into Santa Clara County’s main jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, parole violation and resisting arrest, Garcia said.
