A 30-year-old man was shot to death in the normally quiet community of Hillsborough Tuesday night and his longtime friend is in custody in connection with the murder, a police captain said today.The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was visiting his friend Bradley Kleiman, also 30, at Kleiman’s home at 100 De Salba Road, Hillsborough police Capt. Mark O’Connor said.At the time of the shooting, Kleiman and the victim were in the pool house where Kleiman lives, which is detached from the main home occupied by Kleiman’s parents, O’Connor said.Police received a 911 call from Kleiman at 6:05 p.m.”He said, ‘He pulled the gun on me, and I shot him,'” O’Connor said.But when officers arrived, they found only one gun, according to O’Connor.The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and Kleiman was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was booked into San Mateo County jail this morning.O’Connor called the shooting “tragic” and said the killing is an isolated incident. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday. Hillsborough’s last homicide was in June 2004.
