A 17-year-old boy was arrested after driving toward a sheriff’s deputy and then crashing into a patrol car this weekend in Gonzales, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies were patrolling an area on Iverson Road at Old Stage Road in unincorporated Monterey County at about 1:40 p.m. Saturday when they say they located a group of illegal street racers.While attempting to stop the boy, the suspect drove toward the deputy and then crashed into the patrol car. He again tried to leave and was stopped by a second patrol car a short distance away.He allegedly resisted while deputies tried to arrest him. He was transported to juvenile hall. The suspect sustained minor injuries.
