Two Novato residents pleaded not guilty in Marin County Superior Court today to charges in connection with a shooting that injured two people in a vehicle in Novato last month. Kendra Bertucci, 18, and Joseph Misael Gonzalez-Barbosa, 17, are charged with attempted murder. Three other juveniles also were arrested in connection with the May 12 incident and are being tried in juvenile court. Novato police believe Bertucci was driving a Honda while Gonzalez-Barbosa fired shots from a .22 caliber semiautomatic firearm through the Honda’s sunroof at a Toyota Sienna. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Redwood and on Rowland boulevards. Two people in the Toyota suffered minor injuries. Bertucci and a 17-year-old girl were arrested in the 400 block of Ignacio Boulevard around 7:15 p.m. May 12. Bertucci is being held in the Marin County jail under $600,000 bail.
