A Sureno gang member was arrested for possession of methamphetamine after a pursuit Wednesday afternoon, Santa Rosa police said.Police in patrol cars tried to pull over 28-year-old Miguel Gonzalez’s car at Santa Rosa and Colgan avenues around noon Wednesday as part of a narcotics investigation, Sgt. Michael Lazzarini said. Gonzalez failed to stop and drove north on U.S. Highway 101, followed by two patrol cars. The low-speed pursuit ended when Gonzalez stopped at Morgan Street and College Avenue, Lazzarini said.When Gonzalez was arrested, he was in possession of methamphetamine, some of which he had tried to dissolve in a beverage as he fled, Lazzarini said.Narcotics detectives searched three apartments associated with Gonzalez and seized approximately one additional ounce of methampetamine, cash and two cars, Lazzarini said.Police said Gonzalez, a Santa Rosa resident, is an active Sureno gang member. He was booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of possessing and transporting methamphetamine for sale, failing to yield and gang enhancements, Lazzarini said.Police also arrested Gonzalez’s sister, Erika Gonzales, 30, of Santa Rosa, on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale.
