Police are looking for an armed robber who entered a Salinas gas station and made off with a handful of money, police said. A man entered the Shell Gas Station at 1700 N. Main St., where he selected an item for purchase before brandishing a handgun and demanding money from the register, police said. The suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of money, then ran outside and climbed into the driver’s seat of a green 1990’s two-door Honda Accord he had parked in the lot, police said. The suspect is described by police as a thin Hispanic male, approximately 30 years old and standing at about 5 feet 6 inches tall, who was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Police collected physical evidence at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing.
