On Tuesday, June 1st, 2010, San Jose Police officers responded to a report of a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank in the 100 block of S. Market St. Witnesses told officers that the suspect entered the bank and approached a teller. He handed the teller a note that stated he had a firearm and demanded cash. The teller complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash, after which the suspect fled the bank.
Patrol officers developed information that the suspect may have boarded a northbound VTA light rail train. They met the train at the St. James Park light rail station and located the suspect aboard the train. He was arrested without incident and booked on robbery charges into the Santa Clara County jail. The money taken from the bank was recovered by officers.
