ID #10-120

Berkeley police are asking for the community’s help in catching a suspect in a shooting last week that left two victims critically injured. Police spokesman Lt. Andrew Greenwood said today Doran Williams, Jr., a 27-year-old Oakland man, is wanted on a no-bail arrest warrant for one count of attempted murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon and should be considered armed and dangerous. Greenwood said the warrant is in connection with an incident at about 11 a.m. last Thursday in which a suspect shot and critically injured a 39-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman in a car parked near the intersection of King and 63rd streets in Berkeley. The victims remained hospitalized this afternoon, Greenwood said. He said witnesses and community members have provided valuable information to police.Greenwood said detectives believe a pre-existing dispute led to the shooting and it wasn’t a random occurrence. Police say Williams is a black man who is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 160 pounds.
