A man who was found stabbed to death in unincorporated North Richmond on Sunday morning has been identified as 47-year-old Richmond resident Ernest Lane Jackson, Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said today.A passerby called the sheriff’s office at 6:38 a.m. to report seeing a body on the side of the road in the 1900 block of Garden Tract Road, sheriff’s Lt. Steve Simpkins said.An autopsy revealed that he died from multiple stab wounds, according to the coroner’s office. Sheriff’s investigators believe Jackson was killed somewhere else and then dumped at the spot where his body was found, Simpkins said. The slaying came just days after a drive-by shooting less than a mile away that left three men dead and a fourth injured. That shooting occurred at about 9 p.m. Thursday in the 1700 block of Truman Street. Investigators recovered the vehicle they believe was used in the shooting, but as of this afternoon had not made any arrests, Lee said.
