The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against a 19-year-old man arrested last week on suspicion of murdering another young man in San Jose last month.Jose Torres is charged with murder in connection with the April 21 killing of Jose Vega Calderon, 20, district attorney’s spokeswoman Amy Cornell said. Calderon was found suffering from multiple stab and gunshot wounds at about 9:30 p.m. at the corner of Willard Avenue and San Carlos Street. He died later that night at a hospital.If convicted of first-degree murder, Torres could spend up to 51 years to life in prison; if convicted of second-degree murder, he faces 41 years to life, Cornell said.Torres, who is being held at the Santa Clara County main jail, was arrested on May 5.A plea entry hearing has been scheduled for May 21.
