* Man is in critical condition after a shooting in unincorporated Rodeo, early this morning

A 37-year-old man is in critical condition after a shooting in unincorporated Rodeo early this morning, a Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesman said.The shooting was reported at about 4 a.m. As sheriff’s deputies were responding, the California Highway Patrol reported finding a shooting victim near the Willow Avenue on-ramp to Interstate Highway 80, sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said.The victim told investigators that two men in another vehicle had pulled up and stopped next to his car. The passenger got out and shot the victim, who was able to drive to a spot near the Highway 80 on-ramp, Lee said.The victim was flown to John Muir Medical Center where he was in critical condition this morning, Lee said.Lee said investigators are still trying to determine exactly where the shooting happened. No arrests have been made in connection with the case.
