A 16-year-old Bay Point boy on probation was arrested after shooting at sheriff’s deputies conducting a search of his home early Wednesday, a Contra Costa sheriff’s spokesman said.Several detectives and deputies went to the boy’s home in the 300 block of Madison Avenue at about 7 a.m., knocked on the door and identified themselves, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Jimmy Lee.When no one responded, they forced themselves into the home and the boy shot at them once with a .22-caliber handgun, Lee said.No one was hit by the bullet, which went through the door, Lee said. The boy was immediately arrested, according to Lee. In his bedroom, deputies found a loaded MAK-90 assault rifle under the bed.The boy’s mother and two sisters were in the home at the time and were also uninjured. The boy, whose name was not released because of his juvenile status, was arrested and booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of an assault weapon, altering the serial number on a weapon, possession of ammunition, and violating his probation, Lee said.
