* Boy Stabbed at Meadow Homes Park in Concord

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed Wednesday night in a parking lot in Meadow Homes Park in Concord, Concord police Cpl. James Carroll said today. The victim called police at about 10:45 p.m. and told officers he had been in the parking lot in the 1300 block of Detroit Avenue when three suspects approached him and demanded his necklace and cell phone. They then stabbed him numerous times with an unknown object, Carroll said. The victim was able to escape his attackers and run across a footbridge to a neighborhood on Leland Way behind the park, where he found help, Carroll said. He was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and is expected to survive. The suspects were described only as white or Hispanic males between 16 and 20 years old.
