* Concord stabbing near a Jack in the Box restaurant on Monument Boulevard and Mi Casa Court

A 21-year-old man was stabbed Monday night in Concord after a group of teenagers chased him into an apartment complex and attacked him, Concord police Cpl. James Carroll said today.The victim was near a Jack in the Box restaurant on Monument Boulevard and Mi Casa Court at about 11:35 p.m. when the suspects pulled up in a vehicle similar to a white Chevrolet Blazer, Carroll said.Four people got out of the sport utility vehicle and chased the victim into an apartment complex behind the restaurant on Mi Casa Court,Carroll said.The victim fell down on a patch of grass in the apartment complex’s quad area and the suspects began hitting him in the back, Carroll said.He felt a sharp pain in his back and then the suspects ran off. The victim went inside an apartment and called police. The victim did not see a weapon, but it was determined that he had two puncture wounds on his back. He was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment and is expected to survive.The victim couldn’t identify the suspects and told police that he had no idea why they attacked him. He described them as four white males about 17 to 18 years old wearing dark clothing.Two of them were wearing red masks, Carroll said.
