A 14-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly robbing a 64-year-old woman of her purse outside a restaurant in Fairfield Sunday evening, according to police.The robbery was reported at about 5:40 p.m. outside a restaurant in the 1300 block of Gateway Boulevard, police said.The victim, a Vacaville resident, was about to the enter the restaurant when the suspect came up from behind her and grabbed her purse from her shoulder, according to police.The suspect fled on foot toward Pennsylvania Avenue and was chased by the victim’s granddaughter and her fiance, police said.The suspect threw the purse on the ground after he saw he was being chased, but continued running, according to police.He was caught shortly afterward near the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Canterbury Drive by Fairfield police officers who had responded to the area.The suspect, a Pittsburg resident, was booked into juvenile hall for robbery, police said.The 64-year-old woman was unharmed from the incident, and all her property was recovered.
