A 23-year-old man was arrested in Morgan Hill on Thursday night on suspicion of critically injuring another man by stabbing him during an argument, police said today.Officers responded to multiple 911 reports of a stabbing at an apartment complex located at 260 Berry Court at about 9:35 p.m., according to police.A 37-year-old Morgan Hill man was found lying in the center court area of the complex, suffering from seven stab wounds to his upper torso, police said. He was taken to San Jose Regional Medical Center for treatment.The suspect, identified as Morgan Hill resident Anthony Hernandez, was located walking away from the area. He was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County main jail on suspicion of attempted murder.Witnesses told police that Hernandez and the victim had gotten into an argument, during which Hernandez allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife, police said. Witnesses said when the victim fell to the ground, Hernandez walked over to his car and retrieved a handgun, according to police. He then allegedly pointed the gun at the victim and made threats about shooting him, but did not follow through, police said. Eventually he stored the gun back in the trunk of his car.Police have determined Hernandez and the victim knew each other, but the motive behind the argument and stabbing remains under investigation.
