* Leonides De La Cruz Arrested by Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies for Allegedly Beating His Girlfriend

A 25-year-old Monterey County man was arrested early this morning on suspicion of domestic battery. Leonides De La Cruz, of San Ardo, had been dating his girlfriend for about 18 months and the two lived together, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators believe De la Cruz pushed his girlfriend to the ground, causing a 2-inch welt on her face, sheriff’s officials said. The incident was reported at 12:12 a.m. at 62328 Center St. in San Ardo. De La Cruz was arrested for domestic battery and booked into Monterey County jail.
