* 17 Year Old Boy Shot in Vacaville

Police in Vacaville are investigating a shooting that hospitalized a 17-year-old Thursday night. Officers responded to numerous reports of shots fired in the 500 block of Markham Avenue at around 9 p.m., according to Vacaville police. While conducting a search of the neighborhood, officers received a report of a shooting victim at Vaca Valley Hospital. The teen had been shot in the back. His wound was not life threatening and he was later released. A preliminary investigation revealed the victim had been shot in a confrontation with four suspects in the 500 block of Markham Avenue. He made his way home following the shooting and was taken to the hospital by his family. The suspects were described only as four Hispanic males around 18 to 22 years old, one of whom was armed with a handgun. No arrests were made.
