A convicted child molester is behind bars again after investigators discovered volumes of child pornography at his Daly City home, police said.Police arrested 44-year-old Robert Dean Coy at his home in the 100 block of Acton Street on Tuesday morning. The arrest came through an anonymous tip to the San Jose Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The caller gave police an email address that was allegedly importing and exporting child pornography over the Internet through peer-to-peer file-sharing networks, police said.San Jose investigators linked the IP address to Coy’s home in Daly City and alerted the Daly City Police Department.Daly City investigators were already familiar with Coy, as he is a registered sex offender. He has been complying with registration requirements since 1998, when he was released from state prison, police said. Police said none of the child pornography they discovered at Coy’s home on Tuesday appears to have been produced locally; most appeared to be imported from Europe. However, police said some images are believed to have been created in the U.S., and those images are being investigated further.Coy was charged with several felony counts of possessing and distributing child pornography. He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City where he is being held on $100,000 bail.
