Oakland police are investigating the circumstances of a shooting this morning in East Oakland in which a man was injured after being shot at by officers, a police spokeswoman said.Around 9:40 a.m., two police officers in a patrol car attempted to make contact with a man in the 600 block of Douglas Avenue in the Brookfield Village neighborhood of East Oakland. At least one of the officers fired at the suspect, but details on what prompted the shooting weren’t immediately being released, Joshi said. The man was taken to a hospital where he is in stable condition.Police are in the process of interviewing witnesses who saw the incident, spokeswoman Holly Joshi said.As is standard department procedure for officers involved in shootings, the two officers have been placed on administrative leave.The officers were not hurt in the incident, and so far no weapon has been recovered from the scene, Joshi said.
