A Vallejo resident was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years in federal prison for crack cocaine trafficking, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.Vallejo police detectives arrested 34-year-old William Strong on Feb. 12, 2009, at his home at 146 Wendy St. in Vallejo as he tried to escape over a fence in his backyard, Department of Justice officials said.Strong had been converting powder cocaine into crack cocaine in his home and police found 140 grams of crack cocaine there when they caught him, department officials said.The arrest was the result of an investigation by the Vallejo Police Department and the Oakland Resident Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration. Strong pleaded guilty to charges on Dec. 7, 2009.
