* Four People Arrested in Gang Suppression Sweep in Santa Cruz

Four people were arrested in a gang suppression operation in Santa Cruz, according to police. On Thursday, gang investigators conducted probation and parole checks at homes belonging to gang members in the Beach Flats, lower Ocean Street, and east side neighborhoods. The operation was in response to increased gang activity in the city of Santa Cruz, police said. Four people were arrested and 10 were contacted and identified. The arrests were for DUI, narcotics possession, an outstanding warrant and an alcohol-related violation, according to police.
