A 28-year-old man was Tased and arrested at a cemetery in Greenfield on Thursday night after he was found to be a parolee in possession of a loaded firearm during a vehicle check, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.Shortly before 9:45 p.m., sheriff’s deputies contacted Alex Alejandro Perez during a vehicle check at the Oak Park Cemetery on Elm Avenue.Deputies discovered Perez was on active parole, and a search of him and his vehicle revealed that he was in possession of a loaded semi-automatic pistol, according to the sheriff’s office. Perez resisted arrest, and deputies used a Taser to bring him into custody, according to the sheriff’s office.Two deputies suffered minor injuries during the incident, but they did not require medical attention.Perez was transported to Monterey County jail and booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, having a loaded firearm in a vehicle, resisting arrest, parole violation, and participation in a criminal street gang, according to the sheriff’s office.
