* Armed Man Robs the Check N Go Store on McDowell in Petaluma

Police in Petaluma are looking for a man who robbed a check-cashing business at gunpoint Thursday evening. Officers were called to a Check ‘n Go store at 123 N. McDowell Blvd. to investigate a reported robbery at around 6 p.m. A female clerk told police a man had entered the store and waited about 15 minutes until no one else was around, then he pulled out a handgun and demanded money. The victim complied while the suspect held the gun pointed at her, and then he fled. The suspect was described as a man in his early 20s with curly short hair, a dark complexion and a thin build. He was seen wearing a navy blue hoodie with a zipper down the front and baggie, faded blue jeans. Anyone who might have witnessed the robbery is asked to contact Petaluma police Officer Joel Stemmer at (707) 778-4372.
