An investigation into gang violence in Livermore has led to the arrest of a murder suspect and numerous others allegedly involved in recent violent crimes in the city, police announced today. Officers investigated a string of gang-related attacks in the city between October and December 2009, most of which were initiated by Norteno gang members and targeted members of the rival Sureno gang, police said.Among those arrested was Raul Martinez, 25, who is being held on suspicion of murder in connection with the Oct. 26 stabbing death of a 35-year-old man near Walnut Street and Livermore Avenue, police said. Anna Delarosa, 20, was arrested Feb. 18 and David Navarro, 26, was arrested Nov. 19 on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the attack of a victim near a bus transfer station. Police said the victim was mistaken for a Sureno gang member. In another case, Ronnie Martinez, 18, Fernando Perez, 19, and Juan Preciado, 19, were arrested for attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of a man mistaken to be Sureno gang member, according to police.  Police said when the victim said he was not in a gang, a group of seven suspects stabbed him multiple times and repeatedly kicked and punched him.
