* Ariel Morales arrested in connection to San Francisco robbery and shooting near Tiffany Avenue

A 30-year-old man was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of shooting another man and robbing him of a diamond-encrusted gold chain as he walked with his daughter in San Francisco’s Outer Mission neighborhood, police said. The 38-year-old victim was walking with his 13-year-old daughter in the 100 block of Tiffany Avenue at about 3:10 p.m. when two men approached them.Police Officer Samson Chan said one of the suspects acted as a lookout while the other suspect “approached the 38-year-old male, pointed the gun at him and demanded the gold chain around his neck.”The victim swiped at the gun and the suspect fired a shot, which grazed the victim’s hand, Chan said. The victim’s injury was not life-threatening.Officers canvassed the neighborhood and managed to locate the shooting suspect at 26th and Valencia streets. “As they attempted to detain him, the suspect put up a fight,” Chan said. The suspect, identified as East Bay resident Ariel Morales, was then detained. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for minor injuries he received during the scuffle, and was then booked into jail for robbery, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, various gun charges and resisting arrest.Chan said the second suspect, the man who acted as the lookout, remains at large. The victim’s daughter was not injured in the incident, Chan said.
