* Nakiea Mcafee parolee attacks attempted to kill an extradition agent during an escape attempt in southern Monterey County

A parolee being transported from Texas attempted to kill an extradition agent during an escape attempt in southern Monterey County on Thursday night, according to the sheriff’s office.Nakiea Mcafee, 32, was in the process of being extradited to Northern California to face sexual assault and kidnapping charges when he attempted to kill an extradition agent and take over their vehicle as it headed north on U.S. Highway 101 near San Ardo at around 9 p.m., according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.Mcafee apparently used his hand and chain restraints to attack the agent, cutting his right hand and head. Three other inmates were also injured when they jumped out of the vehicle during the attack.Units from the sheriff’s office, the California Highway Patrol, and a King City police K-9 unit responded.Mcafee was found and taken into custody after attempting to commit suicide, according to the sheriff’s office.
