A 14-year-old girl was assaulted and robbed Thursday night as she was selling candy for a fundraiser at Hill Top Mall in Richmond, police Sgt. Bisa French said today.The girl was selling candy in the 1400 block of Hilltop Mall Road shortly after 8 p.m. when a Chevy Malibu pulled up.The passenger got out of the car, kicked the girl in the stomach and stole her money and candy, French said.As the man got back in the car, the girl tried to go after him to retrieve her property, but the man slammed her finger in the door, French said. Police are looking at surveillance video today to see if they can get a better description of the suspect and the driver, but so far, the only description the have for the suspect is that he is a black man in his late teens or early 20s. The driver was a black female in her late teens or early 20s, French said.The victim was not seriously injured.
