* Michael Taylor arrested for burglary in East Palo Alto after found asleep in a home near Woodland and Cooley avenues

A 46-year-old man was arrested Sunday after apparently falling asleep while burglarizing a home in East Palo Alto, police said.The burglary was reported shortly after 11:05 a.m. when the victim’s pet sitter arrived to find the home ransacked and the cat missing, according to East Palo Alto police. Arriving officers looked through the home and, after finding that somebody had ransacked the living room and rummaged through the liquor cabinet in the kitchen, they checked the bedroom and found suspect Michael Taylor. He was just waking up from a nap in the victim’s bed, police said.Taylor, an East Palo Alto resident, was arrested and booked into San Mateo County jail on suspicion of burglary. The victim’s cat, an 8-year-old gray and white cat named Ella, had not been located as of Sunday evening. Anyone who sees a gray and white cat in the area of Woodland and Cooley avenues is asked to contact East Palo Alto police.
