Police are continuing to investigate the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Antioch on Thursday night, but as of this afternoon no arrests had been made in the case, Antioch police Sgt. Diane Aguinaga said.The shooting was reported at 11:11 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 3915 Delta Fair Blvd.The victim has been identified as Antioch resident Mark Knight, according to the Contra Costa County coroner’s office.Knight had been with his cousins when they got into an argument with another group of people in the parking lot over a financial debt, police said. It appears the argument had been going on for at least a couple of weeks,police said.When the boy and his cousins got into their car, somebody from the opposing group fired several shots at the vehicle. One of the bullets went through a rear window and killed Knight instantly as he sat in the back seat, police said.After the shooting, the group Knight was with drove a short distance and called police. Several other witnesses called police as well.Several people were taken to the police station that night for questioning, but so far nobody has been arrested in connection with the shooting, police said.
