* San Jose police using grant to fight teenage drinking

The San Jose Police Department has been awarded grant money for a program to combat alcohol-related problems in the city. San Jose and 14 other cities in Northern California received the money provided by California’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. The grant allows police in San Jose to increase enforcement efforts and awareness of the problems surrounding youth alcohol consumption in the community, police Sgt. Heather Randol said.
