* Joe Bankhead a Vallejo man may face murder charges for beating death of friend Adrian Williams

A Vallejo man who was arrested for battery of a man in January, may face murder charges because the victim died Thursday, Vallejo police said today.Joe Henry Bankhead, 47, called police Jan. 5 and said his friend, 46-year-old Adrian Williams, had not been seen in a few days, Sgt. Kevin Bartlett said.Police went to a home in the 1800 block of Sutter Street and found Williams suffering from serious injuries. Williams was taken to the John Muir Medical Center and later to a care home in Alameda County where he was in serious condition, Bartlett said. Bankhead was arrested for battery resulting in serious injuries and was booked into the Solano County jail, Bartlett said.Williams died Thursday from what is suspected to be complications from the injuries he suffered during the attack in January, Bartlett said. An autopsy is scheduled for next week.The Solano County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case to determine the appropriate charges that will be filed against Bankhead, Bartlett said.
