A Richmond apartment was riddled with bullets tonight, but no one appears to have been injured by the gunfire, a police lieutenant said. Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 4700 block of Hartnett Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. on reports of dozens of shots fired, police Lt. Mike Gormley said. He said it appears numerous shots were fired from an assault
weapon into one of the building’s units. A nearby unit was also damaged by the gunfire, but it appears as though no one in either unit was injured in the shooting, Gormley said. The suspects likely fired the shots from a parking lot in front of the units, Gormley said. Witnesses told police that at least two people were seen running through the complex, but a more detailed description of the suspects was not immediately available. Officers remained in the area as of 10:30 p.m. investigating the shooting.
