A 57-year-old Concord man was arrested Monday on suspicion of shooting a man in the face with a shotgun as he drove off after an argument, Concord police Lt. Jim Lardieri said. Police received a report shortly after 11 a.m. of a shooting at a mobile home park in the 3400 block of Willow Pass Road. Officers were told that the alleged shooter, Frank Banducci, was inside his mobile home. They set up a perimeter around the home and then called him on the phone, Lardieri said. Banducci came out and surrendered, and was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm. He was booked into county jail in Martinez. Meanwhile, police located the victim, a 39-year-old man who had been shot in the face. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, Lardieri said. Investigators believe the victim and two other men had gone to Banducci’s mobile home just before the shooting and gotten into an argument with Banducci over some property that belonged to one of the men. The argument escalated into a physical fight and the three visitors got into Banducci’s car and started to drive away, police said. Police said Banducci then pulled out a shotgun and fired at the men as they drove off, hitting the victim, who was behind the wheel. They were able to drive out of the mobile home park and were located by officers nearby, Lardieri said. Police are continuing to investigate the shooting and are asking anyone with information about the case to call the Concord Police Department’s Investigations Division at (925) 671-3030. People who wish to remain anonymous can call the department’s tip line at (925) 603-5836.
