Police arrested two men late Thursday on suspicion of robbing more than 5 pounds of marijuana at gunpoint in Spring Lake Park in east Santa Rosa. The two robbery victims went to the park around 8 p.m. to sell the marijuana to three men, Sgt. Steve Fraga said. While the marijuana buyers and sellers were examining the drugs near the trunk of the sellers’ vehicle, a man approached and ordered the group to the ground at gunpoint, Fraga said. The robber took three large bags of processed marijuana from the trunk of the vehicle to a waiting vehicle occupied by another male, Fraga said. The two robbery victims followed the suspects west on Montgomery Drive but lost the vehicle containing the two suspects in traffic, Fraga said. The robbery victims, however, were able to describe the suspects and their vehicle, a silver, 1997 four-door Saturn sedan, and its license plate, Fraga said. Police found the vehicle on Mohave Avenue near the Roseland area of Santa Rosa and arrested the two suspects as they walked to an apartment complex with the three bags of marijuana, Fraga said. Police allegedly found a gun in the suspects’ vehicle that matched the weapon used in the robbery. Police arrested Muluberhan B. Legesse, 25, and Gerry P.
Flickinger, 24, both of Santa Rosa. They were booked in the Sonoma County jail for robbery, Fraga said. Police are investigating whether the three marijuana buyers are connected to the two robbers.
