* Custodians Robbed At San Jose State University

The San Jose State University Police Department is investigating a pair of robberies that occurred on campus early this morning.Three men assaulted a campus custodian and took his money at about 2:36 a.m. at the intersection of South Fourth and San Carlos streets,according to university police. A short time later, another campus custodian reported being robbed between the Y. Uchida Hall and Washington Square Hall buildings by a group of suspects matching the descriptions of those in the previous robbery, police said.Students, faculty, and staff on campus are reminded to be aware of their surroundings, to avoid walking alone at night, and to report all suspicious activity to police. Anyone who does not feel safe walking alone at night can request an escort by calling campus police or by using an on-campus blue light police services phone.Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to contact the university police at (408) 924-2222.
