A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of killing a young woman in Oakley this afternoon, a Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said.Oakley police were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Pheasant Way at about 4:25 p.m. on reports of a suspicious circumstance and found a 21-year-old woman unresponsive in the home. Fire Department personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said deputies managed to locate the man who reported the incident in the 400 block of West Fourth Street in Antioch just before 4:40 p.m. Francisco Javier Ayala-Lares was detained and taken to the sheriff’s office field operations building to be interviewed. He was subsequently booked into the county jail on suspicion of homicide, Lee said.The sheriff’s office did not immediately release the victim’s name and said the motive is under investigation. The pair did know each other, but the nature of the relationship between Ayala-Lares and the victim also remains under investigation. Lee did not release the cause of death, which is being investigated by the sheriff’s office and Oakley police.
