A woman was found murdered in San Rafael this morning and police are looking for her son, who is considered a “person of interest” in the case. Police responded to an alarm at a home in the 200 block of C Street just before 4 a.m. They arrived to find obvious signs of a break-in and could see a person lying inside on the floor, police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said. They forced entry into the home and found a woman, the home’s sole resident, “obviously deceased,” Rohrbacher said.Police have not yet disclosed the manner of death or the woman’s name, but Rohrbacher said investigators want to speak with her son, 30-year-old Richard Leroy Carlson. Carlson is described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. His last known address was in Oakland, Rohrbacher said.He may be driving a 1989 four-door Toyota Camry of unknown color, with California license plate 2RAJ895. Police agencies throughout the Bay Area have been notified about the case. Anyone who sees Carlson or his car should call 911 immediately, Rohrbacher said. Those with other information on the case are asked to call the Police Department at (415) 485-3000.
