Police have arrested two men in connection with a shooting at a house in Richmond early Saturday morning that injured two people, Richmond police Sgt. Bisa French said today. Richmond residents Derrick Guillebeau, 23, and Francisco Becerra, 22, were arrested during a traffic stop shortly after the shooting, which was detected by the city’s ShotSpotter alert system at about 12:55 a.m. in the 100 block of Third Street, police said.A man and a woman inside the house had been shot. They were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive, French said.Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an earlier altercation between the two suspects and someone who lived in the house,French said. Police believe the two men targeted the house but not necessarily the two people who were shot, French said. There had been a get-together at the home earlier and it wasn’t immediately clear whether the victims lived there. Guillebeau and Becerra remained in custody today on suspicion of assault with a firearm, according to a county jail official. Guillebeau is also being held on suspicion of possession of cocaine. His bail has been set at $130,000. Becerra’s bail is $100,000. Investigators have until Wednesday to bring the case to the district attorney’s office for charges to be filed.
