A 28-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and assaulting a police officer and firefighter after an
incident that began at a bar in Healdsburg Saturday night, police said. Alyssa Elizabeth Ruiz was arrested after the incident, which began shortly after 8:25 p.m. when a Healdsburg police officer was flagged down by a bouncer at a bar in the 100 block of Plaza Street. The officer witnessed the bouncer physically struggling with Ruiz, who the bouncer said was drunk, out of control and had assaulted him, according to police. The officer approached Ruiz, who sat on the ground flailing her arms and screaming incoherently, police said. As the officer approached, Ruiz stood up and allegedly lunged at the officer and struck him in the head. The officer pushed Ruiz back and she fell to the ground, hitting her head, according to police. Rescue personnel arrived at the scene shortly after and began treating her, but as she was being treated, Ruiz allegedly assaulted one of the firefighters. She was eventually taken to a local hospital due to her injuries and level of intoxication. Ruiz, a resident of Olivehurst in Yuba County, was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication, obstructing a police officer, and assaulting a police officer and firefighter, police said.
